9/29/2019Omg this place is amazing. My wife and I had the Turbot and lobster. Each meal expertly prepared, beautifully presented, and most importantly delicious. My only complaint is that the... read more dinner was over. It was so delicious and I would have continued eating if it was possible. The portions were large and filling, the flavors wonderful, and the staff polite and attentive.

5/03/2023Food was amazing but we had a very rude server... she was definitely not Irish. Probably the only rude person we met the entire trip. She seemed annoyed we were... read more there with children. Stuck us in the very back of an empty restaurant (with plenty of tables free that had a gorgeous view). The experience ruined our night in Kinsale! So sad!

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Man Friday. The food was excellent and 5 star worthy. A little bit of a slow start with the service. Our hotel made the... read more reservation earlier in the evening and it seemed they weren't prepared. We had to ask for some service items and it took awhile before anyone greeted us at the table. Again, the delicious food quickly made up for the slow start. Husband had the angus ribeye. Cooked perfectly and was delicious. Our daughter had the chicken which was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I had the seafood platter. Everything was very fresh and flavorful and cooked perfectly. We enjoyed delicious steamed spinach, of course the potatoes are always delicious in Ireland. We ordered the creme brûlée, my husbands favorite dessert. He said it was among the best he's had. I ordered the flourless chocolate torte, which was fantastic. An intense dark chocolate with fabulous thick rich unsweetened whipped cream that balanced the chocolate. We enjoyed decaf espresso. Every dish and every course was spot on. Hope to go back some day.

9/02/2019Amazing food, extremely fresh oysters, delicious fish. One of us had hake, I can't remember. And I certainly don't remember what the other had. They were both amazing. Lovely staff,... read more and great experience.

5/19/2022The place is a lovely venue and the food was delicious but the SERVICE was so disappointing. The waitress, from a Eastern European country treated us as if we were... read more annoying to her. Raised her eyebrows when I placed my order of oysters as a starter and salad and potatoes for my main course. After that, she totally ignored me after making eye contact with me when she walked by and when she finally did come by the table she was miffed that I asked for some bread to go with the oysters. She never cracked a smile. She gave off a negative vibe. She doesn't realize that this is a service industry and being nice to the patrons is a good thing. Also the first 3 bottles of wine I chose from the wine list were all unavailable and she snapped at me that she did not have the house wine by the bottle either. My 2 companions were also quite uncomfortable with this vibe. This was a fairly pricy place and I would not recommend because of her. What happened to the Irish hospitality ? Definitely not at this place on this night.

5/31/2022If I were to compare this to other Irish restaurants, definitely 5 stars. But the food in general can be a bit bland. I'll keep it at 5 stars to... read more be fair. Overall, it is a GREAT restaurant. THey have amazing art pieces and plenty of seating. The staff are extremely nice and attentive. They offer a nice selection of plates. Entrees run about 20-30 euro per person currently. They have limited outdoor seating also. Parking can be a huge hassle and that is the b iggest issue they run into.
To go back to the food; well, this is Ireland. things tend to be blander. I'm not trying to be insult but more matter of fact. If you are used to high spiced (not necessarily spicy mind you) foods, you may be disappointed. Like many western european countries, the flavors seem to rely on butter, some salt and pepper. Most of the food was still pretty tasty, though you may have to add some salt yourself, depending on your palate.John W.
